The sudden surge in the number of drone users in recent years has, however, prompted authorities to come up with new laws governing their operations. For instance, in the UK, you cannot fly a drone away from the ‘line of sight’, i.e. 500m horizontally and 400ft vertically, if you don’t have the necessary permissions from the country’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
